Please describe the purpose of this video, your intention and goals, as well as creative process behind it.
From John Tran (scriptwriter and videographer): The skit was to incorporate aspects of the roaring 20’s including the fashion and lifestyle style, mixing it into modern tropes like heist movies. A big inspiration was to combine Oceans 8 and the Great Gatsby, which are the inspiration for Jessica’s and Peter’s characters. My goal was to create a more serious cinematic culmination of modern and popular 20s culture while still having lighthearted characteristics here and there, such as the Costco card and banana for a gun. The creative aspects were to transition from black and white to color, match cut scenes for a smoother flow, and film extra scenes to help explain backstory and planning to better engage the audience.
