On Monday, March 23rd from 4:00–7:00 PM, the Vietnamese Student Association at Louisiana State University (VSA-LSU) volunteered with BREC at the Hearts and Hooves Therapeutic Riding Program, held at the Farr Park Equestrian Center. BREC operates public parks and recreation facilities and programs throughout East Baton Rouge Parish, allowing VSA-LSU to directly support the local public community at no cost. A total of 17 volunteers participated, serving as horse leaders and side walkers to assist children with diverse physical, cognitive, and developmental needs. Volunteers guided horses, ensured rider safety, and built meaningful connections with participants while also helping groom and prepare the horses. This program promotes improved strength, coordination, confidence, and social interaction for riders.
