MOST OUTSTANDING Cultural Program NOMINEE

Vietnamese Student Association at Louisiana State University (VSA-LSU)

Spring Roll Night

Describe the cultural program and how it meets the mission and goals of the organization. Details MUST include: Date of event, number of participants, program purpose (i.e. goals and objectives), member involvement, use of resources, and marketing techniques.

VSA-LSU's Spring roll Night was hosted March 19, 2026 and we had 83 people show up. This night invited our members and non-members out for an all-you-can-eat spring roll experience. It allowed them to come together and enjoy a well loved Vietnamese dish, that they were able to make and customize themselves. Not only that, it was a night for us to reveal and hand out our shirts for the 2025-2026 year, and E-board candidates to present there speeches for the election for the upcoming Eboard. So it was the perfect night to have our members get together. That being said, our auctionees for talent auction were there raising money for GC by selling strawberry sago that everyone really enjoyed as a sweet treat! For this event, we used a social media, a graphic, and presented the event during a general body meeting to encourage people to come out for food and to support their fellow members running in the election.

How did this cultural program serve the campus and/or community?

The event was able to bring the Vietnamese community together and also exposed viet culture to others, expanding our cultural reach.

Did the organization overcome any challenges that arose while planning and implementing the cultural program/event? How?

There weren't many challenges throughout the process, it was just a lot of prep work before the event. For example, cooking all of the meats, peeling the shrimp, and cutting all of the pork was very tedious but nothing we didn't expect.
